Cowichan 2018 summer games

Zone 8 BC Youth Soccer Club Presidents and Administrators:

Zone Qualification Event

As the Zone Representative for the 2018 BC Summer Games I will be coordinating the Zone Qualification Event (Cariboo - North East Zone 8) for Soccer. I would ask that you kindly forward this email and information to the membership of your club and any other interested recipients.

All athletes from our zone born in 2003 and 2004 who are currently registered with a BC Soccer Youth District are eligible to attend the Zone Qualification Event. Additional information on rules and eligibility is available on the BC Summer Games website under the tab "technical package".

BC Soccer has appointed Brad Stewart as the Head Coach of the Boys' team and Joanne Wankling as Head Coach of the Girls' team. We have scheduled the Zone Qualification Event for Friday April 20th (this is a Professional Development day so there is no school) at the Quesnel Youth Soccer Indoor Facility at 980 Anderson Drive, Quesnel BC. The Qualification camp will consist of two sessions on Friday April 20th;

Girls sessions from 9-10:30am and 12:30-2pm.

Boys sessions from 10:30am-12:30pm and 2:00-4:00pm.

Depending on the number of attendees and at the discretion of the Head Coaches, additional Qualification Events may be scheduled. All athletes wishing to participate in the 2018 Summer Games must participate in this Zone Qualification Event.

Anyone wishing to attend the Zone Qualification Event must register in advance by emailing jimnicholas@shaw.ca Zone 8 Rep (Cariboo-North East) with the following information;

- Name

- Sessions you will be attending (boys/girls)

- Date of Birth

- Youth District in which you are registered

- Contact information (email, phone and physical address)

- Preferred position(s)

- There will be a $25 fee for attending the Qualification Event.  Payment must be made by cheque or cash on the 20th prior to practicing. 

The 2018 BC Summer Games will be held in Cowichan BC from July 19-22. The cost of attending the games is $175 plus uniform/kit costs and includes return airfare from Prince George, food and accommodation and local transportation in the Cowichan area.  If anyone has any questions regarding the Qualification Event or general questions relating to the Summer Games, please do not hesitate to contact me anytime at jimnicholas@shaw.ca or 250 316-6559.
